I am a Registered Nurse who got into investing at a young age. When I was 17, I started working in fast food and realized I didn’t want to spend my life working long hours for little pay. My first investment was in Healthscope when I was 18. I was happy with the $6 dividend that I received from them, and even more thrilled when they were eventually taken over by Brookfield asset management for $2.465 per share. Although my investment was only a few hundred dollars, this experience got me hooked on investing.
Since then, I have taught myself everything I know about investing by reading textbooks, watching YouTube videos, and making many mistakes along the way. I specialize in investing in various aspects of healthcare, including REITs that own hospital buildings, private hospital companies, and even speculative biotech companies.
I want to make it clear that I have no formal qualifications in finance. Therefore, nothing that I write should be considered advice or recommendations. Instead, my blog posts are simply the written manifestations of my research.
